When a directional whistle is to be used as the only whistle on a vessel, it shall be installed with its maximum intensity directed straight ahead. This tool was originally created by Lloyd’s Register.
A vessel at anchor may, and a vessel of metres and more in length, shall also use the available working or equivalent lights to illuminate her decks. Entry into force for States which ratify, accept, approve or accede after the date on which this Convention enters into force, shall be on the date of deposit of an instrument in accordance with article II.

Nothing in these Rules shall lliyds with the operation of any special rules made by the Government of any State with respect to additional station or signal lights, shapes or whistle signals for ships of war and vessels proceeding under convoy, or with respect to additional station or signal lights or shapes for fishing vessels engaged in fishing as a fleet.
A sailing vessel underway may, in addition to the lights prescribed in paragraph a of this Rule, exhibit at or near the top of the mast, where they can best be seen, two all-round lights in a vertical line, the upper being red and the lower green, but these lights shall not be exhibited in conjunction with the combined lantern permitted by paragraph b of this Rule.
All possible lolyds shall be taken to indicate the nature of the relationship between the towing vessel and the vessel being towed as authorized by Registerr 36, in particular by illuminating the towline. The Secretary-General shall inform all other Contracting Parties of the receipt of ruoefinder instrument of denunciation and of the date of its deposit.
The construction of lights and shapes and the installation of lights on board the vessel shall be to the satisfaction of the appropriate authority of the State whose flag registeg vessel is entitled to fly.
